Looking At John Fogerty’s Historic Win In Court

By Joe Rock

Today in 1988 John Fogerty won a court case against Creedence Clearwater Revival’s  label Fantasy Records.

The label still owned the rights to all of CCR’s songs.

When John released the album “Centerfield” Fantasy Records felt the lead off single “The Old Man Down The Road” sounded just like Creedence’ “Run Through The Jungle”.

Fogerty famously showed up in court with an acoustic guitar and played both songs on the stand and asked the judge how could he possibly be there for sounding too much like himself.

I for one am very glad he won the case.

Check out both songs below and see what you think.
