The first concert I ever saw was Tom petty and The Heartbreakers.

I was just a kid but the impact of that show will never go away.

That made the news of Tom’s passing that much worse.

Mr Petty was the first music artist that truly made a difference in my life.

I have so many memories tied to his music.

I can remember hearing “Rebels” for the first time ever when I was a truck driver making a delivery.

The countless shows I’ve seen him play up and down the East Coast and out on The West Coast too.

From the “Rock N” Roll Caravan” shows to the tour with Bob Dylan.

The number of times I’ve listened to “Southern Accents” and been near tears as the song brought images to my mind of my mother who had passed away.

Hell, the quote under my high school yearbook picture is from Tom.

Below are some performances of Tom and The Heartbreakers that are special to me.

Tom I can never repay the debt I owe you but I will forever play your music in an effort to do just that.
