Yard Debris Drop-Off Locations

  • 1:00 pm Friday, September 22nd, 2017 by hildiwmmo

The City Beautiful is beginning to stink. Hurricane Irma, the gift that keeps on giving.

The City of Orlando said the amount of yard debris littering roadways is more than the amount they would normally pick up in 4-and-a-half years! So, even with crews working 7 days a week, it’s going to take several weeks before they get to all of it.

If you really want it gone, some cities and municipalities have opened drop-off locations for residents.

Here are the information pages for each county:

Orange County

Seminole County

Osceola County

Lake County

Volusia County

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry “Buckled Down” in Sarasota for Irma

  • 4:09 pm Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 by hildiwmmo

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry shared video, just before Hurricane Irma, of a desolate Sarasota community near where he has a home on Longboat Key.

Look at this guy! If you never listened to or saw Aerosmith in your life and bumped into him on the street, you’d know right away he’s a rock star. Love it.

Molly Hatchet Founder, Dave Hlubek, Passes at 66

  • 7:51 pm Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 by hildiwmmo

The guitar work on Flirtin’ with Disaster and so many Molly Hatchet tunes is so distinctly Dave Hlubek. We lost the smokin’ southern rock guitarist today.

So much talent came out of Jacksonville. I can only imagine Dave is going to be making some serious noise with former Hatchet bassist, Banner Thomas, who just passed in April, with Gregg Allman, who we lost in May, with Skynyrd’s Ronnie Van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines and so many great southern rockers who called Jacksonville home.

Molly Hatchet posted the following message on their Facebook page today:

“It is with great sorrow to announce the [More]

Donald Fagen’s Tribute to Steely Dan’s Walter Becker

  • 7:34 pm Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 by hildiwmmo

No band on earth sounds like Steely Dan.

Today we lost another rock genius – Walter Becker, who, along with his college friend, Donald Fagen, brought us one of the most unique, smoothest-sounding rock bands of the 7os.

When Steely Dan played at the Classic East and West shows last month with the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, Fagen was without his counterpart. He said then that Becker was recovering from a procedure and “hopefully he’ll be fine very soon.”

Here’s how Fagen memorialized his friend today when speaking to Rolling Stone:

Walter Becker was my friend, my writing partner and my bandmate since we [More]

Dog Lovers: Check out trailer for Abbie’s List: A Dogumentary

  • 5:54 pm Monday, August 14th, 2017 by hildiwmmo

You may remember my hilarious friend, Mark. He went by the name Just Plain Mark in those 90s radio days in Orlando. He played politically incorrect games on-the-air that were so funny, no one complained.

Well, he’s been writing for television and film in L.A. the last few years and just shared the trailer for HIS new film – the love story about the bond he shared with his beloved Whippet, Abbie.

As she came to the end of her life, he gave her one of those Bucket List last years. This movie is gorgeous to look at, first of all. It’s [More]

LISTEN: Massive Crowd Sings Bohemian Rhapsody at Green Day Concert

  • 12:09 pm Friday, August 4th, 2017 by hildiwmmo

While waiting for Green Day to take the stage July 1 in London, the British crowd heard Bohemian Rhapsody playing over the speakers and started singing along until it got to near-concert volume.

That moment when the guitars kick in (Wayne’s World car scene) – everyone in the crowd starts jumping…so awesome.

As someone so aptly commented, “Only Queen can rock a stadium when they’re not even there.”

Trailer! Bruce Willis in Death Wish Reboot

  • 4:05 pm Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 by hildiwmmo

Charles Bronson (pictured) starred in the original Death Wish in 1974.  Now, an updated version from director Eli Roth.

It’s a great story, originally a novel, by Brian Garfield, of a mild-mannered man whose wife is brutally murdered. He then becomes a vigilante on a rampage.

The new Death Wish is set in Chicago, whereas the original took place on the streets of New York City.

Bruce Willis is already getting great reviews for his role in the upcoming reboot, due Thanksgiving week on November 22.
