As if it’s not enough to see Billy Joel play live – in his homeland of New York…
Former Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm along with guitarist Mick Jones surprised the crowd when they joined the Piano Man onstage last night at Madison Square Garden to perform Urgent.

If you’ve seen Billy recently, you know that, at one point in the show, he gives the audience a choice of songs to choose from. The one receiving the most applause is the one he plays.
At last night’s show at Madison Square Garden, Steve Miller came out and gave the audience a choice between two of HIS songs – “Livin’ in the USA” or “The Joker”. He didn’t wait very long to analyze the applause before launching into “The Joker”. Lol.
Billy took a little break and joined in after the guitar solo. Watch below:

Billy Joel played Dodger Stadium in LA Saturday night and Axl Rose joined him for a couple songs.
AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” has kind of become a staple in Billy Joel concerts. Billy doesn’t sing it, someone else comes out for that while he’s on guitar.
This time that someone was Axl Rose. Considering Axl stepped in on tour last year with AC/DC when Brian Johnson was sidelined for hearing loss, Axl’s got this one down.
That was all well and good… then he came back.
During the encore, Axl returned for “Big Shot.”

This new CNN series looks right up our alley.
“Soundtracks: The Songs That Defined History,” premieres this Thursday night at 10pm. It looks at the songs that are tied to “pivotal moments in history.”
They used the Queen, David Bowie collaboration “Under Pressure” for the trailer (below), which has Billy Joel, a huge history buff, talking about how music expresses humanity.
The 8-part series is produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
