One of the best tours of the year has begun.
Journey and Def Leppard kicked off their blockbuster tour last night in Hartford, Conn. Being that both bands are equally-huge draws, they are taking turns opening each show.

This is how you know your song has reached CLASSIC status…
“Don’t Stop Believin’ ” was featured in the star-studded opening skit on the Saturday Night Live season finale this weekend (see it below). And then Gabby Barrett sang it on Part 1 of the American Idol season finale last night.
As if it wasn’t nerve-wracking enough for Ms. Barrett, to be so close to winning a nationwide TV singing competition…up pops the legendary singer of the song from the audience.
Watch Gabby’s performance below, and you’ll also hear Steve Perry tell her, “It was the most amazing version I’ve ever heard.”

The man behind one of the most downloaded songs in the history of the world is also our neighbor. He just published an autobiography on his awesome rock star life called, “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” and will be signing copies this Saturday.
Journey’s Jonathan Cain lives in Apopka and his book-signing Saturday is from noon-2pm at Books-A-Million in Kissimmee at the Loop West Shopping Center: 2605 W Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee.

They were on their feet screaming for him…but it didn’t work.
Former Journey lead singer, Steve Perry, chose not to pick up the mic to sing with the band at their Rock Hall induction a couple of weeks ago.

We know now that famed Journey singer Steve Perry WILL be in attendance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Friday night.
What we all wanna know is…will he join the band for a song?
Probably not. At least that’s what keyboardist Jonathan Cain thinks.
In an interview with the Dayton Daily News, Cain said Perry is “just going to accept the award and then skedaddle.” This means we’ll be hearing Arnel Pineda sing instead. Which is probably why Perry will skedaddle.
