It’s been over 6 months now since we lost Tom Petty (on October 2).
This past Saturday night, Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Steve Ferrone played together, along with other musicians Patti Smith, Beck and Stephen Stills, who invited the band to play the “Light Up the Blues” event in Los Angeles, an autism awareness benefit.

As soon as Tom Petty passed, the Gainesville artists, residents and students created tributes on the famous 34th Street Wall and the walls of businesses all over town.
The City of Gainesville would like to do something more permanent, on a larger scale.
They’re asking the public what they think would be most fitting.

Beloved rocker Tom Petty was laid to rest yesterday during a private funeral attended by his family and inner circle.
Petty was buried at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California – the same location where his friend and Traveling Wilbury’s bandmate George Harrison, was memorialized.
Petty’s daughter, AnnaKim, has been sharing some lovely images on Instagram you can see below. The first 3 are from the funeral yesterday.
